As Inspired by the DEEP ONE
After Father’s public declaration/proposal, I stayed indoors.
I only attended morning devotion.
The rest of the day? I hid under my covers, pretending to sleep.
By 5 p.m., I heard MS Laura’s rock-hard voice.
“Are you okay?”
I nodded weakly.
“Father said you must not miss the Vigil.”
Did I miss something?
Was there ever a service anyone dared to miss here? Why the special warning?
“I’ve never missed a service since I came here,” I replied, trying not to sound irritated.
“I know. Just saying… in case you plan on hiding like you’ve been doing all day.”
For the first time, her mask slipped. I caught the bitterness in her tone. And I seized the moment.
“MS Laura… I know you are the ordained Eve. I believe that was the prophecy to be fulfilled. I’m not interested in Father’s proposal. Father is not seeing clearly. You are more capable. Please… help me.”
She froze. For once, no immediate reply.
Then, in a voice so low I almost missed it, she said:
“Run away.”
My heart somersaulted.
“How?”
“At the Vigil. Slip into one of the vehicles.”
And just like that, she turned and walked out.
I stood there trembling.
After about two minutes,
I started pacing the room.
“My Father, is this Your will? Did You bring me here to expose Kairos or to escape?”
The two visions replayed in my head…the dirty water from Father’s well, the clean tanker I brought in. That was no coincidence. I knew what God was saying.
Father Soji was poisoning people here. God wanted me to bring in His pure Word.
So why was running away even an option?
I wished I had a phone. I wished I could call T.J. I needed her. Because the weight was crushing me.
I sat back down, head in my hands.
Lord, I’m overwhelmed. Strengthen me.
By 8 p.m., vehicles began rolling into Kairos. Expensive cars. SUVs. The kind you see on pastors’ convoys.
By 10 p.m., we in-house saints filed into the chapel.
My curiosity was boiling at 100 percent.
I stretched my neck to see who was arriving. Faces blurred in the dim light… until I saw them.
And my blood froze.
The Iben Twins.
No. It couldn’t be.
But it was.
The two living brothers of the famous Iben Triplets.
The firebrands of our generation.
The men everyone wanted at their conferences. The ones who made groaning in the Spirit go viral.
They were the men we joked about as “husband material soaked in anointing.”
And they were here? In Kairos?
“My God… what’s happening?” I whispered to myself.
I tried to focus, but then my eyes betrayed me again.
Another face. Another name.
Levite Sam. The gospel musician whose songs we used to weep to. He was here too.
I almost collapsed.
And if that wasn’t enough, Minister Folawe Charis walked in.
Folawe! The one whose voice pulled heaven to earth.
How? How could they be here, drinking from this poisoned well?
I wanted to scream. To shout. To wake the whole world.
Instead, I sat frozen. My mouth wide open.
“Close your mouth,” Saint Oluchi whispered sharply beside me.
Saint Oluchi? Speaking?
That was a miracle on its own.
“You are shocked,” she murmured, eyes still fixed ahead. “Don’t be. This place is evil. Now I know. I’m escaping tonight. A group of us. Are you coming?”
I turned to look at her….and saw where her eyes were truly fixed….
On MS Laura.
So this was Laura’s plan.
She wanted me to run.
Nice gesture, right? But my spirit was warning me.
What if this was a trap? What if I got caught? They’d beat me, excommunicate me, maybe even kill me.
I whispered back:
“No. Thank you.”
And just then, Father’s voice thundered across the hall.
“It is time for the anointing.”
That was my cue.
My cue to leave before his dirty oily hands touched my head.

My mind was saying the same thing, even before she said it “what if, it was a trap”?
But wait, something dropped into my heart. Even, if they force her to marry Father without her parents consent, without her consent and without a truth teaching priest and before God.
To me, the wedding still amount to null and void.
