WHEN WAITING SAVES YOU

A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Amaka hated delays.
She wanted answers immediately, results instantly, and breakthroughs without waiting. Whenever God seemed silent, she became restless.

At twenty-seven, she was tired of being single while her friends were getting married. So when a man came into her life saying all the right things, she ignored the warning signs. “Maybe this is my chance,” she told herself.

But peace kept leaving her whenever she prayed about him. Deep down, she knew God was asking her to slow down. Yet impatience kept pushing her forward.

One evening, after another painful argument with the man, she sat alone and cried. “Lord, why is waiting so hard?”

As she prayed, she remembered the Israelites in the wilderness. God was leading them to the Promised Land, yet they became impatient along the journey. They grew frustrated with His timing and complained against Him. Their impatience opened doors to pain they could have avoided.

That night, Amaka realized something powerful:
Impatience can push a person ahead of God.
And anything ahead of God eventually breaks down.

So she made a difficult decision, she walked away from what looked “available” and chose to trust God’s timing instead.

Months later, she looked back and thanked God for every delay that protected her from disaster. She finally understood that God’s pauses are not punishments; they are preparations.

When God asks you to wait, it is not because He has forgotten you.
It is because He sees what you cannot see.
A rushed decision can create years of regret.

But a life surrendered to God’s timing will always arrive safely at its destination.
Do not allow impatience to move you out of God’s will.
His pace may seem slow, but His direction is always right.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Numbers 21:4 – “But the people grew impatient on the way.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, help me to trust Your timing even when I do not understand the process.

Father, deliver me from every spirit of impatience and anxiety.

Lord, give me grace to follow Your pace and not run ahead of You.
