WHEN NO ONE LIFTS YOU

Ada had never felt so alone.

Everything had fallen apart at once. Plans she was sure would work had failed. People she thought would stand by her suddenly grew distant. The same voices that once cheered her on were now silent or worse, critical.

She waited… hoping someone would call, someone would encourage her, someone would remind her that she would be fine.

But no one came.

One evening, sitting on the floor of her room with tears in her eyes, she whispered, “God, I thought they would help me up…”

Then quietly, a truth settled in her heart:
“What if your strength is not coming from them?”

She remembered the story of David, a man who had every reason to break. His own men, the people he led and fought for, turned against him and even spoke of stoning him. In his lowest moment, there was no human support to lean on.

Yet, the Bible says something powerful:
David encouraged himself in the Lord.

Ada wiped her tears. Slowly, she stood up. She reached for her Bible, opened it, and began to read. She prayed, even when her voice shook. She spoke words of life over herself, even when she didn’t fully believe them yet.

And little by little, strength returned.
Not from people…
But from God within her.

She realized something life-changing:
The greatest strength you will ever have is not in who stands with you,
but in who lives inside you.

When you fall, don’t wait for people to lift you.
People may fail you.
They may not understand your pain.

But God has already placed a source of strength within you.

Encourage yourself.
Speak life to yourself.
Stand up again even if you have to do it alone.

Because you are never truly alone.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
1 Samuel 30:6 – “But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, help me to find strength in You when people fail me.
Father, teach me to encourage myself through Your Word.
Lord, let Your Spirit within me continually lift me when I fall.
