WHEN VOICES RISE AGAINST YOU

A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Peaceville Estate was known for its close-knit community. Everyone knew everyone. Conversations flowed easily, and news spread even faster.

So when Ada and her husband moved into the finest house on the street, attention naturally followed. But Ada was different, quiet, reserved, and hardly seen around.

“What kind of person doesn’t greet?” one woman whispered.
“She’s proud,” another concluded.
“Her husband is friendly, but she acts like we don’t exist,” a third added.

Soon, whispers became conversations. Conversations became conclusions. And conclusions became accusations.

Unknown to them all, Ada wasn’t proud. She was simply obeying her husband’s instruction to stay reserved and avoid unnecessary interactions in a new environment.

But perception had already become judgment.

Days turned into weeks, and Ada began to feel uneasy. Her body grew weak. Strange discomforts came and went. Hospital visits gave no clear answers.

One night, tired and desperate, she prayed, “Lord, if there is anything hidden behind this, shine Your light and reveal it to me.”

That night, in a dream, she saw a group of women gathered together. Their voices were sharp, their words heavy:

“She’s too proud!”
“She needs to be taught a lesson!”
“Who does she think she is?”

Ada woke up suddenly, her heart pounding. She understood.

What she thought were mere opinions had become voices.
Voices had turned into accusations.
And accusations had opened doors for affliction.

That morning, Ada didn’t cry. She didn’t panic.
She prayed.

“Lord, every voice speaking against me, let Your voice silence them.”

Days later, her strength began to return. Peace replaced fear. And what was once a heavy atmosphere lifted.

Because one truth remains:
No matter how many voices rise against you, there is a Voice that is greater than them all.

Not every battle is physical.
Some are fueled by words, spoken in secret, carried in the unseen.

But when the Voice of God speaks, every other voice must bow.

Do not fear accusing voices.
Stand on the authority of God’s Word and let His voice speak for you.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Psalm 29:4 – “The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, silence every accusing voice speaking against my life.
Father, let Your voice speak louder than every negative word spoken over me.
Lord, arise and defend me against every unseen battle fueled by words.
