PUTTING GOD FIRST

Amara had a simple routine.
Every morning, before touching her phone, before speaking to anyone, she sat quietly and whispered,
“Lord, You are first.”

But as life got busier, things began to shift.
Deadlines came first.
Family demands came first.
Her ambitions came first.

God was still there…
just no longer first.

One evening, after a long and overwhelming day, she broke down in tears. Everything felt heavy. The things she had placed first were now failing her, they couldn’t give her peace, they couldn’t carry her burdens, they couldn’t hold her together.

In that quiet moment, she heard a gentle nudge in her heart:
“You have rearranged your priorities… and now you feel the weight.”

Amara paused.
And for the first time in a long while, she saw it clearly.
she had placed temporary things in the position meant for an eternal God.

That night, she made a decision.
Not a loud one.
Not a dramatic one.
But a deliberate one.

She knelt down and whispered again,
“Lord, take Your place… be first again.”

Slowly, things began to align.
Not because life became perfect,
but because the One who holds everything was now in His rightful place.

What you place first reveals what you trust most.

When God is not first, everything else becomes a burden.
But when God is first, everything else finds its proper place.

Your job cannot carry your life.
People cannot sustain your soul.
Ambitions cannot give lasting peace.

Only God can.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, forgive me for the times I have placed other things before You.
Father, help me to prioritize You above all else in my life.
Lord, as I put You first, let every other area of my life fall into divine order.
