YOU WERE NOT BUILT TO WALK ALONE
A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Kunle liked his space.
“I don’t need anybody,” he would often say.
No close friends.
No family visits.
No emotional attachments.
He kept conversations short, relationships shallow, and his life tightly guarded. Even his neighbors barely knew him. To Kunle, independence was strength and distance was safety.
Then, everything changed.
A sudden illness forced him indoors for days. At first, he brushed it off. But as the days stretched on, the silence in his apartment grew louder than ever.
No calls.
No messages.
No one checking in.
For the first time, independence didn’t feel like strength, it felt like isolation.
One night, his condition worsened. Weak and desperate, he reached for his phone and scrolled through his contacts. Names were there… but no relationships.
Then he paused at one name: Tunde.
Tunde had tried, over the years, to build a connection with him. Friendly messages. Occasional check-ins. But Kunle had always kept him at arm’s length.
With trembling hands, he called.
“Tunde… please…”
There was a brief silence. Then Tunde’s voice came through, calm but firm.
“Kunle, I’m coming.”
Within minutes, help arrived.
As Kunle lay there, recovering, one truth settled deeply into his heart:
He had spent years pushing people away, only to discover that when life became overwhelming, he needed someone.
God never designed man to live in isolation.
From the beginning, He created relationships, connection, and family.
Independence is good but isolation is dangerous.
Strength is not in standing alone, but in knowing who stands with you.
Your family may not be perfect.
Your past may not be beautiful.
But God always provides people by blood, by faith, or by destiny, so that you never have to walk alone.
Don’t shut people out.
Ask God to show you the right ones, and build with them.
Because at the end of the day, when life gets heavy,
you will need someone.
