RAISING ROYAL MINDS

A Deep Thoughts Devotional Reflection

As Inspired by the LIVING WORD

David was not a perfect man,
but he was an intentional father.

Among all the victories, failures, wars, and restorations in his life,
one thing stands out boldly, he raised Solomon with purpose.

Solomon was not just any child.
He was a child of mercy.
A child born after repentance.
A child promised by God as a son of peace and rest.

Yet David did not assume that divine promise meant divine neglect.
He understood that prophecy does not replace parenting.

So while Solomon had teachers, tutors, and counselors,
David did not outsource fatherhood.
He became his son’s first instructor, first mentor, first model.

No wonder Solomon grew into a man of wisdom.
No wonder he wrote proverbs, songs, and deep truths.
He was not only taught by men, he was trained by his father.

Dear Parent,
Are you involved in your child’s growth or have you handed it over entirely to schools, devices, and society?

Yes, life is busy.
Yes, responsibilities are heavy.
But even a little involvement makes a lasting difference.

Ask your child to write for you, you will discover their intellectual level.

Ask your child to share a Bible verse, you will discover their spiritual depth.

Ask your child for advice, you will discover their emotional maturity.

These simple moments become powerful evaluations.

Solomon once said,
“I was my father’s son…”
Not just biologically but relationally, emotionally, and spiritually.

That statement alone speaks of closeness, presence, and intentionality.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Proverbs 4:3 –
“For I too was a son to my father, still tender, and cherished by my mother.”

PRAYER POINT:

Lord, strengthen me to be an intentional, present, and involved parent. Help me raise children who are wise, grounded, and God-fearing, in Jesus’ name.
