Some years ago, I was seated quietly in a crowded bus, lost in my thoughts, when a heated argument broke out. A nursing mother and a bus conductor were exchanging harsh words. I tried to ignore it until the words turned frightening.

The woman hurled an insult.
The conductor responded with something far worse.

He pointed at the baby in her arms and spoke words that made my heart skip. Words that should never be spoken over a child. Words meant to wound far beyond that moment.

I couldn’t keep quiet. I confronted him immediately.
“Why speak evil over an innocent child?” I asked.
He showed no remorse. That was what scared me the most.

As I sat back down, shaken, a truth dawned on me:
The enemy knows that one of the fastest ways to wound a parent is through their children.

Scripture confirms this pattern. When Ham dishonored his father, Noah did not speak judgment over Ham directly. The words landed on Canaan, Ham’s son. The target was generational. The pain was extended.

This is why parents must be watchful not just physically, but spiritually.
Words spoken casually, angrily, or carelessly can plant seeds.
And seeds: good or bad grow.

But there is hope.
God has given parents authority to speak life, cancel negativity, and cover their children daily.
No spoken word is greater than the word of God.
No curse is stronger than divine blessing.

And children, too, must learn to pray.
Not every battle is visible.
Some attacks are indirect.
But God remains a defender of destinies.

Parents, guard your mouths and your prayers.
Children, guard your hearts and your faith.

The enemy aims at children to break parents,
but God preserves children to give parents joy.

Speak life.
Cancel evil.
Cover destinies daily.

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, every negative word spoken knowingly or unknowingly over my children, be cancelled by Your mercy.

Father, place a spiritual hedge of protection around every child connected to me.

Lord, let my children grow in wisdom, favor, purpose, and divine preservation.
