Deola stood at the school gate waiting to pick up her 7-year-old son, Tobi. Just as the children rushed out, she noticed Tobi walking slowly behind, his face downcast. His shirt was torn, and his eyes were red.

“What happened?” she asked, her heart racing.

Before he could answer, one of the teachers approached her.

“Ma, please be careful of the words spoken over Tobi. A parent got angry during a misunderstanding today and, out of frustration, declared that your son would ‘never do well in this school.’”

It felt like someone had poured ice water down Deola’s spine.

“Why my child?” she whispered.

But deep down, she knew the truth
The attack wasn’t about Tobi.
It was about her.
About her peace…
Her joy…
Her future.

Because the enemy understands something many parents forget:

The easiest way to break an adult is to wound their child.

That evening, Deola sat quietly, reflecting. Suddenly, the Holy Spirit reminded her of the story of Noah.

When Ham dishonored his father, Noah didn’t say, “Cursed be Ham.”
He declared, “Cursed be Canaan”, Ham’s son.

The enemy has always understood generational warfare.

When Pharaoh wanted to cripple Israel, he targeted the babies.
When Herod feared the arrival of a Savior, he went after infants.
When satan wants to destroy a generation, he begins with the children.

And when he wants to break a parent… He sends arrows toward the child.

Right there in her living room, Deola laid hands on her son and prayed:

“No weapon formed against you will prosper. Any attempt to use you as a point of attack against me, let it fail. You are covered. You are blessed. You are preserved.”

A strange peace flooded her heart because she finally understood:

To protect your joy, you must guard your seed.
To protect your future, you must secure your children.

Isaiah 49:25 —“I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children.”

Lord, any power targeting my children to break my spirit—fail in your assignment! My children are covered and preserved in Jesus’ name.

Father, every attack directed at me to cause pain to my parents—scatter now! My life is not available for destruction. Cover me with Your mercy and deliverance.
