WHEN THE STARS RETURN
A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Lara stood at her window one quiet night, gazing at the sky. The air was still, and the streetlights flickered lazily in the distance. She searched for stars, but only a few dotted the dark sky. “Strange,” she whispered. “When I was a child, the heavens used to sparkle like a thousand candles. Now it’s mostly darkness.”
As she pondered, a thought stirred in her heart “Just like the sky, many lives that once shone brightly have gone dim.”
She sat on her bed and began to think deeply. There was a time she used to burn for God praying fervently, worshipping passionately, shining with joy and peace. But lately, she had noticed a dimness within. The fire wasn’t gone, but it flickered weakly beneath the weight of sin, distraction, and spiritual laziness.
Tears welled up in her eyes. “Lord,” she whispered, “what happened to my light?”
And in the stillness, she felt a gentle whisper in her heart:
“Your light didn’t die, it just got covered. Clear the clouds, and you’ll shine again.”
That night, Lara prayed differently. She repented, deleted the things that fueled her darkness, and rededicated her life to God. She asked Him to reignite her passion for His presence.
Days later, she felt the difference. Her peace returned. Her joy radiated again. She wasn’t just surviving; she was shining and this time, no darkness could steal her light.
Many of God’s children were once bright stars full of zeal, love, and purity. But the cares of life, secret sins, and spiritual neglect have covered their glow.
Darkness doesn’t always kill the light; sometimes, it only hides it. And all it takes to shine again is a sincere return to the One who said, “Let there be light.”
No matter how long your star has been hidden, it can shine again. Clear away the darkness and the world will see your glow.
KEY SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 5:14 – “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”
