REFLECTION OF THE KING
A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Mira was one of the most passionate believers in her campus fellowship. Her fire for evangelism burned bright, she prayed loudly, spoke boldly, and was never ashamed to declare her faith. Everyone admired her confidence, except for one quiet observer, Ada.
Ada shared the same room with Mira and loved her heart for God, but there was something that bothered her. Mira’s zeal was loud, but her presentation wasn’t. Her clothes were often wrinkled, her hair unkempt, and her breath carried a staleness that made people step back whenever she spoke.
One morning after fellowship, Ada gathered courage and said gently, “Mira, can I ask you something?”
“Sure,” Mira smiled.
“If you were to meet a president to represent our school, how would you show up?” Ada asked.
“Of course, I’d dress well. I’d want to represent the school properly.”
Ada nodded. “Then, shouldn’t we do the same when we represent the King of Kings? We’re not just sharing words, we’re reflecting Him. The way we appear should mirror His excellence.”
Mira froze for a moment. She had never thought of it that way. That evening, she stood before her mirror and whispered, “Lord, forgive me for thinking passion alone was enough. Help me to reflect You in every way inside and out.”
From that day, her life changed. She still preached with fire, but now, people didn’t just hear her words, they saw her message. Clean, graceful, radiant. She had become a reflection of the King she represented.
God’s kingdom is one of order, beauty, and excellence. As His ambassadors, we are called to represent Him well, not just with our words or hearts, but in how we present ourselves.
Cleanliness and neatness are not vanity; they are a form of respect for the God we serve. You never know your appearance might be the first sermon someone hears.
KEY SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 5:16 – “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
