STRENGTH FOR YOUR LEADERS

Evelyn sighed as she scrolled through social media — post after post mocking the president, her boss, and even her pastor. She shook her head and murmured, “They all deserve it. They’ve failed us.”

That evening, during her quiet time, the Holy Spirit interrupted her thoughts:
“Do you pray for those you criticize?”

The question pierced her heart. She paused and whispered, “Pray for them? Lord, they’re the reason things are hard!”

But the Spirit spoke again:
“When I called you to intercede, I didn’t say only for those you like. Kings fall when those under them refuse to lift their hands in prayer.”

Tears welled up in Evelyn’s eyes. She had complained more than she had prayed. Her pastor had looked weary last Sunday, her boss was battling stress, and her father was struggling to stay strong for the family — yet she never thought of them as “kings” needing prayer.

She opened her Bible and her eyes fell on 1 Timothy 2:1–2 (NIV):
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

Right there, she dropped her phone and began to pray — for her president, her boss, her pastor, her father, and every leader in her life. She realized that when kings fail, the people suffer. But when kings are strengthened through prayer, everyone enjoys peace.

That night, she made a new vow: to complain less and intercede more.

Those in authority — whether at home, work, or in government — carry heavy burdens. Instead of criticizing, lift them up in prayer. Your prayers could be the difference between their downfall and their deliverance.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
1 Timothy 2:1–2 (NIV) – “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, strengthen every leader and authority figure in my life with wisdom, grace, and divine direction.

Father, forgive me for complaining instead of praying. Help me to intercede faithfully for my kings.

Lord, let peace and godliness reign in my home, workplace, and nation through my prayers.

  2. Father, forgive me for complaining instead of praying. Help me to intercede faithfully for my kings, Lord in Jesus’ name. Amen
