ASSIGNED FOR A REASON

Yemi had trained as a graphic designer but could not land the high-profile jobs she dreamed of. Instead, she was offered a steady role managing visuals and notices for a small church outreach program. It felt small compared to her ambitions — “just graphics for flyers,” she told herself.
Months passed and she quietly carried out the assignment, wondering if God had forgotten her dream.

One Sunday morning a weary visitor arrived at the church — a community leader who had come to meet the pastor but was too rushed to wait. He spotted Yemi’s display and the signage she designed; impressed, he asked who made them. That chance conversation led to a contract to rebrand the leader’s small nonprofit, and through that work Yemi was introduced to people who later connected her to a national design agency.

Yemi realized the truth: the “little” role God put her in was not a detour but a divine assignment that positioned her where the right people could find her. What looked like a secondary task was actually a strategic placement toward her primary calling.

God never lies about His purposes. At times He gives us a secondary, visible assignment — not to waste us, but to protect, position, or prepare us for the primary purpose that is still being formed. Don’t despise small tasks. Serve faithfully where He places you, and keep asking Him to reveal the larger assignment hidden in the process.

The danger is getting comfortable in the visible role and missing the larger destiny. Be faithful in what is seen while you ask God to unfold what is yet unseen.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, give me clarity to see beyond my present assignment and reveal the primary purpose You have for me.

Father, help me serve faithfully in the small tasks while You prepare me for greater works.

Lord, position me by Your wisdom so that every secondary assignment opens doors to my primary calling.
