Chinedu had prayed for years for a turnaround in his business. One evening, as he reviewed his accounts, the call came—an international company wanted to partner with him. Suddenly, doors began to open everywhere.

At first, he was overjoyed, but within days the pressure mounted. Meetings were back-to-back. Contracts needed signing. Systems he hadn’t built began to crack under the weight of success.

One night, exhausted, he remembered Elijah. When the rain finally came after years of drought, Elijah outran Ahab’s chariots. But before he ran, Scripture says he tucked in his cloak. He prepared himself for the speed God was about to release.

Chinedu realized he had prayed for the rain but hadn’t prepared for the rush that came with it. He needed to strengthen his team, build accountability, and guard his spiritual life. Success without preparation could turn blessings into embarrassment.

Weeks later, he adjusted his structures, sought wise counsel, and leaned more on God for discipline. And as the blessings multiplied, he was not swept away by them—he was ready.

God answers prayers with breakthroughs, but divine speed requires discipline. If you don’t “tuck in your cloak” through preparation, character, and wisdom, the very wind of God’s blessing may expose you instead of lifting you.

Prepare well. Build wisely. Stay rooted in Him. Then when His wind blows, you’ll soar without shame.

Proverbs 21:31 – “The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.”

Lord, give me wisdom to prepare for the blessings and speed You are releasing into my life.

Father, help me build the right structures that will sustain my success.

Lord, may I never be disgraced by the very opportunities You send my way.
