“BORROWED BREATH”

As Inspired by The LIVING WORD

You didn’t choose your face.
You didn’t pick your family.
You didn’t select your heartbeat or design your breath.
You simply appeared, wrapped in purpose, carried by grace.

We live each day with a strange sense of ownership, forgetting that everything we are is borrowed.
Your name could have belonged to someone else.
Your voice could have never been heard.
That smile your loved ones admire might have never existed.
Yet, here you are… and it’s all because He chose you.

Genesis 1:27 reminds us that we were created in His image.
Not assembled by chance. Not built by accident.
Deliberately formed. Lovingly released into the world.

So how do we respond?

With humility.
With gratitude.
And most importantly, with responsibility.

You don’t own this life. You steward it.
God has entrusted it to you, and someday, He will ask:
“What did you do with the life I gave you?”

Let that question guide you.
Stop living as though this breath is permanent.
Stop chasing applause more than purpose.
Live each day as a response of thanks to the One who made you “you.”

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE:
Genesis 1:27“So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.”

REFLECTION PRAYERS:

  1. Father, thank You for the gift of life and for choosing to create me on purpose.
  2. Lord, teach me to live daily with reverence and gratitude for this borrowed breath.
  3. Help me to use this life to bring You honor, not just to satisfy myself or impress the world.
