“WHEN IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE — YET”

Kemi had just gotten her dream job. The kind of job she’d prayed and fasted for. The office was prestigious, the pay was great, and the people seemed warm.

But barely three months into the job, she was falsely accused of leaking a sensitive company file. Though there was no proof, her contract was terminated.

She wept for days. Her confidence was shattered.
“God, why would You give me this job and take it away so fast?” she cried.

Her savings began to dwindle, and she was forced to move in with her aunt temporarily. It felt like a setback—a shameful twist in her journey.

While at her aunt’s, Kemi began volunteering at a local youth centre nearby just to keep herself busy. One day, she helped organize a career workshop and was asked to share her experience with young people.

Her story touched many, and soon, schools began inviting her to speak. Within a few months, she became a well-known voice in youth development, and eventually founded her own youth empowerment organization.

Looking back years later, she said with a tearful smile,
“If I hadn’t lost that job, I would have missed my real assignment.”

Indeed, what she thought was her breakdown was actually God’s setup for her breakthrough.

LESSONS FROM KEMI’S STORY

  1. God Sees the Bigger Picture

What feels like rejection may be God’s redirection.

The pain may not make sense now, but it’s part of a greater puzzle.

  1. Delay is Not Denial

God is never late. He’s working behind the scenes, weaving every event for your good.

  1. Your Pain May Lead You to Purpose

Like Kemi, sometimes we find our true calling not in our comfort but in our confusion.

BIBLICAL PARALLELS

Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, and thrown into prison … but it was all part of God’s plan to make him prime minister in Egypt (Genesis 50:20).

Ruth lost her husband, relocated as a foreigner, and ended up becoming a mother in the lineage of Christ.

Paul was imprisoned, yet from that prison came letters (epistles) that are now the foundation of the New Testament.

PRAYER POINTS

  1. Lord, help me trust You even when things don’t make sense. Remind me that You are working behind the scenes.
  2. Father, use every disappointment in my life as a divine appointment for Your purpose.
  3. Lord, teach me to love You deeply so that all things in my life will truly align for my good.

DECLARATION

I believe God is working in my favor,
Even when I can’t see it or feel it.
My setbacks are setups.
My pain is birthing purpose.
My story is unfolding with divine accuracy.
All things … good, bad, delayed, denied … will work together for my good, because I love God and I am called according to His purpose!

FINAL THOUGHT

If things aren’t making sense right now, be patient. God is still writing.
He’s the Author and Finisher…and He never leaves a story half-done.

📖 Romans 8:28 — “All things work together for good…”
Not some things.
Not easy things.
But ALL things.

Trust the process. God’s hand is in it.

  1. All things work for good for them that love God and are called according to his purpose. Amen. I believe that God is working in my life. may God redirect my life towards his purpose.

  2. Hmmm…yes ma!
    This is absolutely true!
There was a time in my life when everything seemed like it was over, things were really really tough for me and my family, but that was the time I discovered my talent and really, God has used it to bless men and I feel so fulfilled anytime I use that talent of mine.
If I hadn’t faced that challenge at that time,I may never have discovered my God given talent and grace

May God grant us the grace and patience to depend solely on Him when it seems really lonely

  3. You know these short stories and prayer points have been mine I was suspended at work for something I never did ,it’s been 5 months and the issue is still under investigation. I have shed countless tears , thank you for the encouragement,to keep looking to God for he will surely come through.

  4. Humm! because God’s hand is in the process, I trust it with reckless abandonment in Jesus Name🙏
