Tade clutched his briefcase tightly as he paced around the living room. For weeks, he had sensed the Lord nudging him to sow a particular investment, one he called his “safety net,” into a mission project. It didn’t make sense. That money was meant for expanding his business.

He heard the still voice again: “What’s in your hand?”

He whispered, “My savings… my security.”

The gentle reply came again: “Cast it down. You’re holding on to a stick; I want to give you a staff.”

Suddenly, the story of Moses came alive to him. God asked Moses to throw his rod, the symbol of his identity, skill, and security, to the ground. At first glance, it seemed like a loss. But it was the beginning of supernatural encounters and undeniable wonders.

Friend, God isn’t asking you to give so He can take from you. He’s asking so He can multiply you.

Your “walking stick” could be a car, a property, a title, a network, or even a dream. When God asks for it, it’s not because He needs it, it’s because He wants to elevate you beyond it. Like the boy who handed over five loaves and two fish, your obedience becomes a miracle in His hands.

Remember, even God gave His most precious, His only Son. And now, heaven overflows with His children.

So, what is in your hand? Will you trust Him enough to throw it down?

Lord, help me recognize when You are calling for my seed.
Give me the grace to obey You even when the instructions are uncomfortable.
I surrender my support systems to You, be my ultimate Support.
Father, let every sacrifice I make in faith yield abundant harvests in Jesus’ name.
Teach me to value obedience over logic and faith over fear.

Declare: I will not withhold anything from God. As I lay it down, I pick up a life of wonders in Jesus’ name!
