‘TOO GOOD TO WASTE’

“Na pilot I wan be before o…”
That was what Baba Kunle told me as we sat under the mango tree beside his small phone repair kiosk.

I chuckled. “Baba Kunle, you and pilot? Why you no pursue am?”

He sighed deeply. “Life happened. But the truth is, I didn’t help myself either. I had the grades. I had the dream. But I chose street life instead, girls, easy money, fast fame. By the time sense came, time had gone.”

Now in his mid-fifties, Baba Kunle had settled into a small trade, helping people fix spoilt chargers, broken screens, and faulty phones. And even though he was skilled and respected in that little corner, there was still a hint of “This wasn’t the plan” in his voice.

Later that day, I thought about Baba Kunle’s story.
What a perfect picture of mercy, and also a missed opportunity.

Like clay in the potter’s hands, God has original designs for each life. But when we resist Him, stray, or waste time, the original intent can become delayed or even altered.

In His mercy, He doesn’t discard us. He reshapes. Reassigns. Repurposes.
But what if we didn’t delay in the first place?
What if we yielded early, trusted Him wholly, and followed without excuse?

The truth is, many are living out Plan B when they were created for Plan A.
Yet, God still specializes in redemption stories.
If you’ve found yourself “less than what you were born to be,” there’s still hope.

Return to the Potter.
Let Him mold you again.
It may not erase the past, but He can still make something eternally beautiful out of your now.

PRAYER:
Lord, I surrender again to Your original design for my life.
I will not waste Your mercy or reject Your hand.
Shape me again, and let my life still glorify You. Amen.
