“THE RUNNER’S EDGE”

As Inspired by The LIVING WORD

Lara had always been a runner track star in secondary school, a national athlete by 22. Her trophies lined the shelf, but the thrill was fading. Coaches, fans, and fame all pushed her to run faster, win more, be more. But something was missing.

One day, she stumbled upon a documentary about a marathoner who ran not for medals but for a cause: to raise funds for children without clean water. As the film ended, something clicked. Lara broke down in tears. She had been running all her life, but never toward the right prize.

That night, she prayed a prayer she hadn’t said in years:
“Lord, I want to run after You. Not stages. Not spotlights. You.”

From that moment, Lara began a new kind of race not of speed, but of surrender. She woke up early just to worship. She studied the Word like a runner studies strategy. She trained in secret, learning to silence the noise of applause and listen for God’s whisper.

She didn’t quit the track, but everything changed. Her races became platforms to point others to Christ. Medals no longer defined her, the Master did.

Lara’s story echoes Paul’s words: “I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.”
The real edge in life isn’t talent, connections, or fame. It’s pursuit.
What are you chasing? Is it Him?

Because when you chase after Him, everything else falls into place.

Scripture: Philippians 3:12, Psalm 63:8

DECLARATION:
I am not running in vain. I chase after the King. I lay aside the applause and press into purpose.

PRAYER BULLETS:
1) Lord, redirect my pursuits. Let me chase what matters!
2) Take me deeper, Jesus. I long to know You more!
