“THE HIDDEN SEASON”

Dayo had been working as a junior scriptwriter in a local TV station for years. To the world, he was a nobody…just another office staff lost in the crowd. But Dayo knew there was something greater within him.

Every night, after long hours of editing other people’s work, he would go home, open his laptop, and write his own scripts. He attended online courses, read books, and practiced his craft in secret.

His friends often mocked him.
“Why are you working so hard when nobody even knows you?” they would say.
But Dayo would smile and respond, “I’m preparing for my appearance.”

Years went by, and one day, the head writer at the station resigned abruptly. A new production was about to begin, but there was no script.

Desperate, the producer asked, “Is there anyone here who has a script we can use?”

Dayo raised his hand. With trembling fingers, he handed over one of his scripts.

The producer read it, eyes widening with excitement. “This is brilliant! Why have you been hiding this talent?”

Within a month, Dayo was promoted to lead writer. His work gained recognition, his name became known, and doors began to open.

People whispered, “He just appeared from nowhere!” But only Dayo and God knew the truth.

Dear Family, Dayo’s story is very similar to the story of John the Baptist…

📖 Mark 1:4 (NIV)
“And so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.”

The Bible says John appeared in the wilderness, but before that grand appearance, he had gone through years of preparation…solitude, prayer, understanding his calling, and staying obedient.

By the time he appeared, his voice was strong, his message was clear, and his mission was unstoppable.

LESSONS FROM DAYO’S STORY & JOHN THE BAPTIST

1. Preparation Precedes Manifestation

Don’t rush your appearing. Spend time sharpening your gift, praying, learning, and growing.

2. Your Preparation Time is Not Wasted Time

When God finally reveals you to the world, people may think you emerged suddenly, but your hidden work will speak for itself.

3. God’s Spotlight Shines When You’re Ready

John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness already equipped for his assignment. Just as Dayo’s years of writing prepared him for his promotion.

PRAYER BULLETS

1. Lord, give me the grace to adequately prepare for my grand appearance. May I not waste my hidden season, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, may Your blessing not meet me unprepared. Equip me fully for the assignment You have destined for me, in Jesus’ name.
3. Holy Spirit, teach me discipline, patience, and focus during my preparation season, so I can manifest gloriously when You call me forth.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Everyone’s story has a preparation phase. The world may not see it, but God sees it. If you are still waiting for your grand appearance, keep preparing. Your day of appearing is closer than you think.
