“JOY THAT MAKES NO SENSE”

Mide sat quietly on the last row of the bus, gazing out the window, smiling to herself for no clear reason.

She had just lost her phone the night before.
The economy was biting hard.
She had no love interest, and she had three unsubmitted job applications still pending.
Yet, her heart was singing.

“What’s funny?” a stranger beside her asked as she chuckled softly.

Mide didn’t know how to explain it. Just the day before, she had attended a street worship event. Nothing extravagant, just a few people, a guitar, and raw, heartfelt praise. She had stood under the open sky, tears pouring down as she reconnected with God.

That was it. That moment realigned her heart with heaven.
She didn’t gain any money or miracle that day,
But she gained something deeper — a joy that made no earthly sense.

Reflection
Ever had those days where everything around you is wrong, but your heart is still light?
That’s not naivety — that’s divine joy
The kind that overrides circumstances. The kind that flows when we reconnect to our Source.

Joy is not always laughter. It’s not denial.
It’s that inner confidence that all is well because you are anchored in God.

If life has felt dry lately, if your soul has been heavy and your smile feels forced.

Maybe it’s time to pause and return to His presence.
Sometimes, joy doesn’t come from what you gain, it comes from what you *lay down*.

SCRIPTURAL REFERENCE
“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines… yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.”Habakkuk 3:17-18 (NIV)

Joy isn’t always about having everything —
Sometimes, it’s about choosing God over everything.

PRAYER POINT
Lord, please restore to me the joy that only You can give.
Help me to find delight in Your presence even when my circumstances don’t make sense.
Let my heart stay rooted in You, that I may carry this joy everywhere I go.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
