‘CALL FOR THE MEN’
A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

I watched Deji, a close friend, break down in tears in the middle of a worship meeting. He had just returned from the hospital, his wife’s third miscarriage in two years.
He’d done everything except pray.
Not because he didn’t believe in God, but because, like many men, he left the “spiritual matters” to his wife.
“She prays a lot,” he’d say.
“She’s the intercessor of the house.”
But that day, something shifted. He remembered Isaac, who prayed for Rebekah until she conceived. (Genesis 25:21)
He remembered Zechariah, who stayed in God’s presence, faithfully serving, until the angel appeared with a word of breakthrough. (Luke 1:8–11)
He remembered Jairus, who left his position and pride to fall at Jesus’ feet for his daughter’s healing. (Luke 8:41–42)
Deji realized that being a man of God isn’t just about providing, building, or leading, it’s about praying.
He went home that day, knelt beside his wife, and said: “Tonight, I pray.”
****
Where are the men who cry out to God for their homes?
Where are the fathers on their knees for their daughters?
Where are the husbands who pray over their wives like Isaac?
We are in a generation where prayer meetings are full of women while men are “too busy” or “too tired.” But throughout scripture, heaven responded when men prayed.
Elijah bowed low, and the drought broke.
Paul and Silas prayed, and the chains snapped.
Jesus prayed, and the world was redeemed.
Friend, this is an emergency. We don’t just need more successful men, we need more spiritual men.
Men who pray.
Men who serve.
Men who stand in the gap for their families and for the nation.

2. Father, restore the spiritual fire in every husband, father, and leader.
3. I take my place as a priest over my home, help me to pray with power and purpose.
