The hospital room was quiet except for the soft rhythm of the monitor beside the bed. Adewale lay still, staring at the ceiling after the doctor had just left with difficult news.

“There’s not much time,” the doctor had said gently.

The words echoed in his mind. For the first time in years, the noise of life became silent. The business meetings, the endless errands, the daily rush, all of it suddenly seemed small.

Slowly, Adewale turned his face toward the wall and whispered, “Lord…”

Memories began to flood his mind. Not the money he had made. Not the houses he had built. But the moments he had truly walked with God, the times he helped someone quietly, the nights he prayed when no one saw, the days he chose righteousness even when it cost him something.

With tears in his eyes he prayed,
“Father, remember how I have tried to walk before You sincerely. Remember the little ways I chose to honor You.”

In that moment, Adewale understood something deeply: when life stands at the edge of eternity, the only thing worth presenting before God is a life that sincerely tried to please Him.

This was exactly what King Hezekiah did when the prophet told him his life was about to end. He turned his face to the wall and reminded God of the sincere way he had walked before Him. And God, in His mercy, added more years to his life.

Life will one day present each of us with a moment of reflection.
Titles will not speak.
Wealth will not answer.
Achievements will remain silent.

What will speak is how you lived before God.

2 Kings 20:3 – “Remember now, O Lord, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what was good in Your sight.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, help me live a life that honors You daily.

Father, give me the grace to walk before You with sincerity and truth.

Lord, let my life produce good works that will glorify Your name.
