“Lord… how much longer?”

Those were the words Tola whispered as she knelt beside her bed that night. It had been months of prayers. Months of waiting. Months of hoping for things to change.

Nothing seemed different.

Her heart felt tired. Her faith felt stretched. And the temptation to quietly give up crept into her thoughts.

Earlier that day, she had spoken with a friend who was also waiting on God. Different struggles, different situations, but the same heavy feeling the silence of waiting.

That night, while reading her Bible, her eyes fell on the words of Jesus:

“Men ought always to pray, and not lose heart.”

It was as though the words jumped off the page and settled directly in her spirit. Jesus never said believers would not face delays. He never promised that answers would always come quickly. But He gave a command that carries hope: Don’t lose heart.

Then she remembered the story Jesus told about a widow who kept returning to a judge again and again, asking for justice. The judge was neither kind nor God-fearing, yet her persistence moved him to act.

If persistence could move an unjust judge, how much more would persistence move a loving God?

Tola wiped her tears, folded her hands again, and prayed not because she saw immediate results, but because she chose to trust that heaven was still listening.

Sometimes the greatest victory in prayer is simply refusing to stop.

Storms may come suddenly.
Waiting seasons may feel long.
Answers may appear delayed.

But one instruction remains clear: Don’t lose heart.

Keep praying.
Keep believing.
Keep knocking.

When God answers, He does not answer halfway.

Luke 18:1 – “Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray at all times and not lose heart.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, strengthen my heart when waiting becomes difficult.

Father, give me the grace to remain persistent in prayer.

Lord, help my faith remain strong until my answers arrive.
