Bayo burst into the house, eyes swollen and voice shaking.

“Maami, please help me… they twisted my words.”

Between tears, he explained. “I told my colleagues our boss is a very good man. I even added ‘very’ to emphasize it. But they reported to him that I was being sarcastic that I meant the opposite. This morning… he fired me.”

His mother sighed deeply. This was not the first time she had heard of such things.

There are people who do not fight with fists.
They fight with interpretation.

They don’t attack your actions.
They manipulate your words.

A simple sentence becomes an insult.
A compliment becomes mockery.
An innocent statement becomes rebellion.

The Bible speaks clearly about such people:
“They are always twisting what I say; they spend their days plotting to harm me.” (Psalm 56:5)

Word twisters thrive on distortion. They take what was said in purity and reshape it for destruction.

But here is the comfort:
If God is your defender, no manipulation can permanently destroy your destiny.

Men may twist your words,
but God interprets your heart.

They may misrepresent your voice,
but Heaven records your intention.

And when God arises, every false narrative collapses.

Be careful with your words, yes —
but do not live in fear of manipulators.

Commit your speech to God.
Let Him be your witness.
Let Him be your defender.

Because when the Lord speaks on your behalf,
no twisted version can stand.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Psalm 56:5 – “They are always twisting what I say; they spend their days plotting to harm me.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, arise and defend me against every twisted interpretation of my words.

Father, silence every voice that seeks to misrepresent me.

Lord, let truth prevail over every false narrative concerning my life.
