A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

It was still early in the morning when Bisi stood by her window, staring into the quiet sky. Her heart was heavy. The situation around her did not look like what she had prayed for. There were delays. There were disappointments. There were unanswered questions.

As she opened her Bible for devotion, her eyes fell on a familiar scripture:

“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”

She paused. The earth at that time was without form and full of darkness. Yet God did not complain about the darkness. He did not describe the confusion. He simply declared what He wanted to see.

And light responded.

Bisi realized something powerful that morning:
Creation responded to God’s voice.

If she was created in His image, why was she constantly describing her darkness instead of declaring her light?

Instead of saying, “Nothing is working,”
she began to say, “Light is breaking forth.”

Instead of saying, “My family is struggling,”
she declared, “Peace and restoration fill this home.”

Instead of focusing on the emptiness,
she called forth fullness.

That day, her environment did not change immediately but her atmosphere did.
Faith rose. Hope awakened. And confidence returned.

Because when God speaks, things shift.
And when you align your voice with His Word, situations begin to respond.

What are you seeing today that does not reflect God’s promise?
Darkness in your health?
Confusion in your family?
Stagnation in your career?

Stop rehearsing the problem.
Start declaring the promise.

You are not denying reality, you are speaking a higher reality into existence.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Genesis 1:3–4 –
“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”

PRAYER POINTS:

I call forth divine intervention into every situation causing me embarrassment.

I declare sound health and long life over myself and my family.

I call forth profitable opportunities and favor in my work and business.

I declare peace, unity, and restoration over our nation.

I boldly speak into existence every good thing God has promised me.
