Femi and Tunde were both athletes, competing in the same team, chasing the same goals. While Tunde kept improving steadily, Femi found himself burning with quiet resentment. At first, he tried to work harder and focus on his own growth. But soon, a friend began whispering into his ears:

“Do you see how he’s always ahead of you? He doesn’t deserve it. You should do something.”

That voice didn’t create the hatred, it strengthened it.
And before long, Femi’s heart was no longer just wounded; it was poisoned.

There are people in life whose role is not to fight you directly, but to empower those who want to fight you. They become the backbone of another person’s hatred, fueling bitterness, reinforcing jealousy, and supporting wicked intentions.

This reminds us of Balak in the Bible. He wanted to destroy the children of Israel, but he knew he couldn’t do it alone. So he searched for Balaam, someone with spiritual authority, to speak curses over them. If not for God’s mercy, those words could have found expression in their lives.

But God stepped in. What was meant to be a curse became a blessing. And the enemy’s plan collapsed.

Not every enemy fights you face-to-face.
Some operate through mouths.
Some through influence.
Some through encouragement of wickedness.

But when God is your defender, even anointed tongues cannot speak evil that will stand.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Numbers 23:8 – “How can I curse whom God has not cursed? Or how can I denounce whom the Lord has not denounced?”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, arise and defend me against every tongue speaking evil over my life.

Father, expose and dismantle every hidden support system working against me.

Lord, turn every curse meant for me into a blessing.
