Tomi sat quietly in the living room, watching her mother kneel beside her bed every morning. It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t dramatic. But it was consistent. Every day, before the house became busy, her mother whispered prayers over her and her siblings.

Years later, Tomi would realize something powerful while her parents provided food, clothes, education, and shelter, they were also providing something far deeper: spiritual covering.

One evening, as Tomi faced a difficult decision about her future, she remembered her mother’s voice saying, “Lord, give my children wisdom, understanding, and hearts that love You.” And suddenly, peace filled her heart. She wasn’t walking alone, prayers had gone ahead of her.

Just like David did for Solomon, her parents had not only prepared her for life but had prepared her before God. David understood that training a child without prayer is like building a house without a foundation. So he lifted his son on the altar before he lifted him to the throne.

David’s prayer was not for wealth or fame, but for wisdom, understanding, and obedience. And because of those prayers, Solomon became one of the wisest and most loved kings in history.

Dear Parent, your responsibility does not end with provision.
Your greatest gift to your children is not what you buy for them, it is what you pray into them.

If you truly desire to raise children who fulfill God’s purpose, you must raise them on your knees before you raise them on your shoulders.

1 Chronicles 29:19 – “And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes…”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, give me the grace to consistently pray for my children.

Father, plant wisdom, understanding, and obedience in their hearts.

Lord, help me prepare my children not just for life, but for destiny.
