IN DUE TIME

A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

As Inspired by the LIVING WORD

Adewale had served his boss, Chief Martins, faithfully for 16 years. From running errands to managing company contracts, he gave his all. Yet, despite his loyalty, Chief Martins wouldn’t let him go — not with the connections Adewale had built.

Deep down, Adewale knew he was called for more — to lead, to bless others, to make impact. But each time he prayed for a way out, it felt like heaven was silent.

One night, weary and broken, he cried,
“Lord, when will it be my turn to rise?”

That night, the Lord visited him in a dream.
“Adewale,” the gentle voice said, “when the time came for Israel to leave Egypt, Pharaoh couldn’t stop them. Their exit was not in secret — it was in full view, and they left with riches.”

“Lord,” Adewale whispered, “when will my own time come?”

Then came the reply:
“Habakkuk 2:3 — For the vision is yet for an appointed time… though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not delay.”

When Adewale woke up, he understood — his time under Chief Martins was part of the process. He wasn’t trapped; he was being trained.

So, he continued to serve with excellence, humility, and integrity.

Five years later, God’s word came to pass. His wife got a federal appointment that required relocation. Adewale had to move — and even Chief Martins couldn’t hold him back.

Within months, Adewale was appointed as a consultant for government projects. The discipline, patience, and leadership he had learned under his former boss opened doors of favor he never imagined.

Today, he runs his own thriving company and supports hundreds through his foundation.

FRIEND,
Sometimes, God keeps you in a place longer than you expect — not to punish you, but to prepare you. Your “waiting season” is not wasted. When your appointed time comes, no one will be able to stop you.

Hold on. Serve faithfully where you are. God’s plan for you has an expected end — and it will come in full view of those who thought you’d never rise.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV) — “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

PRAYER POINTS:
1️⃣ Lord, help me to remain faithful while waiting for my appointed time.
2️⃣ Teach me to trust Your process, even when it feels slow.
3️⃣ Father, let my waiting season produce wisdom, humility, and favor.
4️⃣ Lord, when my time comes, let no one be able to stop my rising.
