CLOTHED FOR GLORY, NOT FOR SHAME

Tonia stood before her mirror, applying the finishing touches to her outfit. She had always been known for her bold fashion sense. “If you’ve got it, flaunt it,” she would often tell her friends. Her goal was simple — to turn heads wherever she went.

But that morning was different. As she adjusted her dress for the perfect “wow” effect, she suddenly heard a gentle but firm voice:
“Daughter, are you dressing to reveal My glory or your body?”

Startled, she paused. “I’m not exposing that much… just a little…” she thought to herself. But the voice spoke again, stronger this time:
“You are not just any woman; you are My priest. Dress like one.”

Confused, Tonia quickly opened her Bible. Her eyes fell on 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NLT):
“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”

She broke down in tears. All along, she thought modesty was old-fashioned. But now she realized — revealing herself wasn’t only disrespecting God’s temple; it was dulling His Spirit within her.

The Holy Spirit whispered gently:
“In the Old Testament, priests had to cover themselves to approach My presence. Now, you carry My presence everywhere. When you expose yourself carelessly, you dishonor Me and kill My influence in you. Grace does not cancel My standards.”

Tonia wiped her tears, looked into the mirror, and picked a different outfit — one that reflected dignity and beauty without exposure.

You are part of a royal priesthood. Your body is God’s temple. Dressing with dignity and modesty protects not just your image, but God’s presence in your life.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
1 Peter 2:9 – “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, help me to honor You with my body and appearance.

Holy Spirit, teach me to dress in a way that reflects Your glory and not my flesh.

Father, let my life and my dressing be a true representation of Your royal priesthood.
