EPILOGUE – BATTLE OF THE BRETHREN

When Brethren Dwell in Unity
Here we are. This Is me, closing my diary… with a full heart.
The final chapter. Because when grace finishes a story, it leaves no loose ends. Just mercy… and memories.
It was two weeks after the Banquet.
The air in Holy & Fire Altar Assembly had changed.
People greeted deeper. Smiled slower. Prayed louder.
It was as if the whole church had been baptized in humility.
Even Mummy G.O had started teaching from a gentler place. Her last Women’s Fellowship session was titled:
“God Still Calls the Ones You Cancelled.”
Let’s just say … it left us all speechless.
A peace and planning meeting was called.
Old heads.
New voices.
Former rebels.
Former gatekeepers.
I was asked to anchor the moderation.
Me, Mabel.
PA to Mummy G.O.
Friend to everybody.
Witness of the entire shaking… and reformation.
T.J. sat quietly on the third row. She didn’t want a seat at the head table. But when it became the time for restructuring the youth revival department? Everyone turned to her.
She said simply:
“I don’t want to lead it. I just want to guard the flame.”
We understood.
Not everyone who carries fire wants a title. Some just want the freedom to keep burning.
Then Daddy G.O spoke:
“We propose a new framework…where experience partners with energy. Where fathers don’t just correct or criticize sons … but walk beside them.”
There was a standing ovation.
For the first time, the church wasn’t divided by generation. It was united by revelation.
By the end of that meeting,
Pastor Dan asked to step down from Music Pastor. He wanted to rebuild himself.
And me?
I wrote everything down. Because I know how churches forget. But not this time. Not on my watch.
T.J.?
Her best place in church was not to sit with the elders or pastors, but sitting under the tree near the children’s department, praying with teenagers. She was their go to person.. In fact, it was T.J that helped Daddy G.O and Mummy G.O’s daughter come out of her self harm struggles no one knew about.
No one told her to do it.
It’s just who she became.
Not a celebrity.
Not a saviour.
Just a sister who healed… and helped others do the same.
And if you ask me what the biggest miracle of our church was?
It wasn’t that T.J. survived the scandal.
Or that Edna came back.
Or that T.J and Bro Solomon got married..
It was that…
Jealousy lost its altar.
Grace be like what?
Grace be like say the church that was once a battlefield is now a home.
( Grace is when church that was once a battlefield is now a home.)
And me?
I’m still here.
Mabel.
Still taking notes.
Still catching whispers.
Still watching stories unfold in pews and pulpits.
Because even after all this…
God is still writing chapters in this church.
THE END.
NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR…
“Battle of the Brethren” is not just a story.. it’s a mirror for the body of Christ.
One that says:
“Let love win. Let envy die. And may we always remember…Grace is not a competition.”
As I bring Battle of the Brethren to a close, my heart returns again and again to the ancient yet living words of Psalm 133:
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.” — Psalm 133:1–3
This scripture mirrors the very heartbeat of this story.
Unity among brethren is not a small thing. It’s sacred, powerful, and life-giving. Like the anointing oil poured on Aaron’s head, unity flows from the top from leadership, from those entrusted with spiritual authority and it trickles down, bringing fragrance, consecration, and healing to the entire body. But what happens when that oil is blocked? When envy, suspicion, or self-interest stops the flow?
In Battle of the Brethren, we saw how dangerous it can be when brethren wound each other …knowingly or unknowingly. When competition replaces cooperation. When fear of being out-shined overshadows the call to shine together. The altar became a battlefield instead of a birthing ground for revival.
But unity, true unity … the one birthed in humility and sustained by love .. is like dew upon the mountains. Refreshing. Consistent. Gentle, yet powerful. Dew may seem insignificant, but without it, life withers. It nourishes silently, faithfully. In the same way, when believers live in peace and purpose together, heaven responds. God commands the blessing. Not just a trickle. A commanded blessing … irreversible, undeniable, overflowing.
So, dear reader, beyond the characters and conflicts, my prayer is simple:
That we will choose unity over ego, reconciliation over revenge, and grace over gossip.
Because God still wants to pour His oil. He still wants to send His dew.
But He is waiting for His brethren to truly dwell together in unity.
Let’s not block the blessing. A unified Church is a Blessed church.
With love and prayers,
Opeyemi Akintunde

Let’s Pray this together..
Prophetic Prayers for Unity & Revival
Lord, heal every wound caused by division in Your house. Let the balm of Gilead flow through every altar where strife once ruled.
Father, let Your oil of unity flow from the head to the hem. Restore true spiritual leadership that brings peace, not politics.
Lord, uproot envy, comparison, and hidden competition from among us. Let us see each other through eyes of love and purpose.
God of the mountains and the valley, speak to every heart resisting divine order. Melt our pride and teach us submission to Your voice.
Let every spiritual blockage to Your commanded blessing be removed. We receive the blessing of life forevermore over our churches, families, and fellowships.
Father, raise a generation like T.J … burning, pure, and bold. May their light never be quenched by fear or tradition.
Restore trust between leaders and followers, mentors and mentees, elders and youth. Let us truly become one body with one heartbeat.
Let the dew of Hermon fall afresh upon our dry places. Refresh us, revive us, and renew our zeal for Your presence.
Lord, when You send help, may we recognize it … whether it comes in robes or rags, young or old. Teach us to discern Your vessels.
We declare: in this season, the Church will no longer be a battlefield of brethren, but a birthplace of revival. In Jesus’ name, amen.
