“SECRETS FROM THE MOUNTAIN”

©️ Opeyemi Akintunde

As Inspired by the LIVING WORD.

Ade had always been a dreamer. From a young age, he envisioned building a business that would change lives. But as he grew older, life became a blur of deadlines, bills, and unending demands. His dream remained just that—a dream.

One day, his mentor, Mr. Akin, invited him to a quiet retreat in a remote village. “Ade,” Mr. Akin said, “sometimes you need to leave the noise behind to hear what God has been saying all along.”

Reluctantly, Ade agreed. The first few days of silence felt unbearable. Without his phone, emails, and daily routine, he felt lost. But on the third day, something shifted. While reading Exodus during his morning devotion and doing some cross referencing, he stumbled upon Hebrews 8:5, which referenced Moses receiving the blueprint of tabernacle he built on the mountain.

It dawned on him…”Some Secrets, insights, depths, wisdom, strategies, innovative ideas, divine downloads, can only be gotten from the Mountain Experience..”

Ade closed his Bible and prayed, “Lord, if Moses needed the mountain to hear You clearly, I’m here. Speak to me.”

In the stillness that followed, ideas began to flow. He saw a vision of how his business could not only thrive but also uplift communities. God gave him specific strategies ..products to focus on, partnerships to pursue, and even the right timing to launch.

By the end of the retreat, Ade felt renewed and focused. He returned home, put the divine blueprint into action, and within a year, his business became a pride of his community. Whenever people asked him how he came up with such innovative ideas, Ade would smile and say, “I climbed the mountain, and God showed me.”

Dear Family,

Ade’s story mirrors the experiences of Moses, Jesus, and countless others who sought solitude with God and emerged with divine blueprints. The “mountain” is not always a physical place but a spiritual posture of separation and stillness. Let me give you a few examples…

Biblical Examples:

Moses: On Mount Sinai, he received detailed instructions for building the tabernacle. (Exodus 25-31)

Jesus: Frequently withdrew to lonely places to pray, finding strength and clarity for His mission. (Luke 5:16)

Elijah: Encountered God in a gentle whisper on Mount Horeb. (1 Kings 19:11-13)

Modern Examples:

1.. George Washington Carver: A devout Christian who would wake up at 4 a.m. every day to pray and ask God for insights. He attributed his over 300 discoveries with peanuts to divine inspiration and hundreds more uses for soybeans, pecans and sweet potatoes. He was an American agricultural scientist and inventor.

2. Isaac Newton: During his time of solitude in the countryside during the Great Plague, he developed theories of motion and gravity that changed the world.

3. Billy Graham (Evangelist):

Billy Graham, one of the most influential evangelists in history, often retreated to quiet places for prayer and preparation before his global crusades. He led millions to Christ.

4. David Green (Founder of Hobby Lobby):

David Green regularly seeks God in prayer for guidance in running his multi-billion-dollar business. His faith-driven decisions have made Hobby Lobby a model of Christian business ethics.

5. John D. Rockefeller (Philanthropist and Entrepreneur):

Rockefeller’s prayerful moments provided guidance in his business practices and inspired his philanthropy, including founding educational and healthcare institutions like the University of Chicago.

6. George Müller (Orphanage Founder):

George Müller prayed earnestly in solitude for God’s provision to support over 10,000 orphans.

7. Rick Warren (Author ):

Rick Warren credits intentional solitude and prayer as the foundation of his writing and ministry, including his global bestseller The Purpose-Driven Life.

8. Florence Nightingale (Founder of Modern Nursing):

Florence Nightingale’s deep moments of prayer and solitude shaped her compassionate approach to healthcare, revolutionizing modern nursing practices….E.t c

Benefits of the Mountain Experience

1. Stillness Brings Clarity:

Distractions often drown out God’s voice. Intentional separation allows us to hear Him clearly.

2. God Reveals Blueprints:

Like Moses, we can receive detailed strategies for our personal, spiritual, and professional lives when we spend time with God.

3. Innovative Ideas Are Birthed in Solitude:

Great breakthroughs often come when we step away from the noise and allow God to work in us.
