“I AM MAKING EVERYTHING NEW”

As Inspired by LIVING WORD.

Ada sat at her balcony, holding a cup of tea, watching the sun set. It had been three years since she lost Kunle, her husband of ten years. The pain of his passing had left a void in her heart. Kunle had been her ‘Heaven on Earth, best friend, her confidant, and her greatest cheerleader. How could life ever be the same?

After months of shutting the world out, Ada finally began seeking God for healing. During her prayer times, she often came across Revelation 21:5: “I am making everything new.”  And interestingly … Rev 21: 1 spoke closely to her…’ Then I saw “a new Heaven and a new earth, for the first Heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea”. It meant to her that her old heaven that had passed away , God is set to give her a new Heaven. The words gave her hope that God wasn’t finished with her story

One Sunday after church, Ada’s pastor approached her with a kind smile. “Ada, there’s someone I’d like you to meet,” he said. Reluctantly, she agreed, though she wasn’t sure she was ready.

That evening, she met Tunde, a widower who had also experienced loss. Their conversation flowed naturally, and for the first time in years, Ada felt a spark of joy. Over the next few months, Tunde and Ada began to meet regularly. They talked about life, faith, and how God had carried them through their darkest moments.

One evening, as they walked through a park, Tunde turned to her and said, “Ada, I know we’ve both been through a lot, but I believe God is giving us a second chance at love. Would you allow me to walk this journey with you?”

Tears filled Ada’s eyes. She had never imagined finding love again, but she could feel God’s hand in their story. She nodded, saying, “If God is making all things new, I’m ready to embrace it.”

Months later, they stood before family and friends, exchanging vows. Ada realized that while she would always cherish the memories of Kunle, God had written a new chapter in her life—a chapter filled with joy, companionship, and love.

Dear Family,

Ada’s story reminds us that when we experience loss, it can feel like the end of the road. But God’s promise in Revelation 21:5 is clear: “I am making everything new.” Whether it’s the loss of a spouse, a relationship, or a dream, God has the power to rebuild, restore, and give us a new “heaven.”

Letting go of the old doesn’t mean forgetting—it means trusting God to write a new and beautiful chapter in our lives.

Lessons from Ada’s Journey:

1. God Brings New Beginnings:

Loss is not the end. When something cherished is gone, trust that God can create something new.

2. Healing Prepares Us for the New:

Just as Ada sought God for healing, we must allow Him to restore our hearts to embrace the new things He has prepared.

3. God’s Timing is Perfect:

Tunde’s arrival in Ada’s life was not accidental; it was God’s perfect timing for a new season of joy.

4. Love Can Be Renewed:

New love doesn’t erase old memories—it builds on them, showing us God’s capacity to bring beauty from ashes.

Prophetic Declaration:

I Embrace New Beginnings:

I declare that God is making all things new in my life, and I will trust His process.

I Will Heal and Move Forward:

I release my pain to God and open my heart to the new blessings He has prepared for me.

God’s Timing is Perfect:

I trust that God will bring the right opportunities, relationships, and seasons at the right time.

Bible Ref:

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea… He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’ Then he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.'”

– Revelation 21:1, 5

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for Your promise to make everything new. Help me to trust You when I experience loss and to embrace the new blessings You bring into my life. Heal my heart and prepare me for the next chapter You are writing. May my story reflect Your faithfulness and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Task for Today:

Reflect on an area of your life where you have experienced loss. Spend time in prayer, asking God to heal your heart and show you the new thing He is doing. Trust Him to write a beautiful new chapter in your life.

Final Thought:

When God says, “I am making everything new,” it’s a promise that applies to every area of our lives. Like Ada, allow Him to bring healing, restoration, and new joy. Trust that He is faithful to give you a new “heaven” that will surpass anything you’ve lost.
